I didn't know that you had to be a paying member to organize a powwow.
I just checked the FAQ and you can also do it if your identity is verified - and that's something I'd recommend to do to non members anyway (as well as verify your credentials).
Maybe your friends can't organize a powwow in [i]your[/i] name, but why couldn't they organize one in [i]their[/i] own name?
Otherwise, just keep checking the powwow page, maybe one arises someday (I know for sure that powwows are organized on a regular basis in Strasbourg), or maybe someone sees your posting here and organizes one!
